ABOUT LAURA POWERS
Laura Powers, President of Powers Career Coaching, LLC, is an Executive Career Transition Coach with over 20 years of experience empowering talented executives from diverse industries, functions and career stages build the clarity, confidence and self-marketing skills needed to make satisfying, successful career moves.
In addition to her work as a private executive career coach, Laura has held career coaching positions with 4 global and regional outplacement firms as well as a 5-year career advisory role with The Hartford Financial Services Group. Prior to her work in career management, Laura spent a number of years in the banking industry as a corporate and private banking lender, supporting middle market companies, C-level executives, professional service firms and their partners.
As a former banker grounded in business, Laura combines her proven methodology and focused approach with a sales & marketing mindset and a high-touch, supportive coaching style to help her clients achieve results. Laura is professionally certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, Strong Interest Inventory® and Social & Emotional Intelligence Profile (SEIP)® assessments and is a graduate of Wheaton College (MA), where she currently serves as a volunteer Alumni Career Coach.
A sought-after speaker on career-related topics, Laura has presented at numerous organizations throughout the Northeast, including: ExecuNet/Stamford’s Senior Executive Round Table (SERT); Financial Executives Networking Group (FENG); The Westport Group; the Business Council of Westchester; the first annual Women’s Leadership & Empowerment Summit held at Manhattanville College’s School of Business; Stamford Innovation Center; New York State Bar Association; Westchester County Bar Association; Fairfield County Bar Association; Professional Women of Westchester; and the New York Public Library’s Science, Business & Industry Library (SIBL).
Powers Career Coaching, LLC is a member of the Association of Training & Development (ATD) Southern CT Chapter and the Business Council of Westchester, for which Laura designed and facilitates its StarPower leadership development program, now in its sixth year, for Westchester’s current and up & coming ‘40 Under 40’ Rising Stars.
